Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers is the definition of beauty and brains. This month, she not only made history as the first Black woman to be crowned Miss Universe Great Britain, but she also passed her bar exam.

The 25-year-old marked her accomplished with an Instagram post, writing: “Guess who is the newest Barrister in !!! I’m filled with so much excitement and sense of achievement. I passed my bar exams two weeks ago and didn’t get a chance to celebrate as I was completely focused on my preparations for @missuniversegreatbritain so naturally, I am bursting with joy and cheesing uncontrollably. Is there such a thing as pent up joy? Lol

It has been the longest year preparing for bar exams. Some tears, lots of frustration but laughter that hurt our bellies and burned our cheeks made the journey worth it to make it through the gates and transition from student to barrister.

I couldn’t Have achieved this without a supportive and loving family, the wonderful staff at the University of London, the best classmates who were open and honest about the challenges we faced completing the program; this was refreshing and brought us closer together. WE. MADE. IT. Dedication and discipline truly pays off. I do not regret the sacrifices that I’ve made to get me to this point.

Congrats to my fellow colleagues who were called today. Let us remember the oath that we took this morning; let us remember to remain honest, humble and interested in our careers, our clients and the development of the profession. Let’s conquer.”
