She just keeps raising the bar!
Michelle Obama just launched the “Pass The Love” campaign to help fight hunger, NY Daily News reports.
The new campaign is being rolled out in conjunction with Obama’s healthy eating children’s show, Waffles + Mochi. The campaign is a partnership between the Obamas’ Higher Ground Production and the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA).
“Pass the Love w/ Waffles + Mochi” is aimed at combating the food insecurity issues around the country exacerbated by the pandemic. The goal is to provide meals for 1 million families in need, with each shipped box containing ingredients for three meals.
Nancy Roman, president and CEO of PHA, spoke about the campaign, saying, “Food has the power to build health, and we need to leverage that power.”
The Partnership for a Healthier America was an extension of the forever first lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign geared toward combating childhood obesity. Obama now serves as honorary chair of the organization. The two will be working together in partnership with Walmart and Blue Apron to launch this new initiative with the support of public donors.
“It’s no secret that the pandemic has made this a tough year. With your help, we’ll pass the love, with fresh, delicious meals that are quick and easy to cook together at home,” said Obama.
