Former UCLA Basketball Player Moses Brown Signs To OKC Thunder After Years Of Being Undrafted

Moses Brown just signed a multi-year deal with the NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder, living proof that if you keep your “chin up,” great things will happen.

A few years ago, the former UCLA player went viral after throwing a bad pass, resulting in a lost possession when his team was down 2 points in the final stretch. As he walked away, looking sad and defeated, his teammate Jaylen Hands walked up to him and lifted his chin. Hands reminded him to stay positive regardless of the circumstances. 

The moment turned into a mainstay of inspiration on the internet, and it turns out, UCLA ended up winning the game. Now, Brown has returned to show us just what keeping your “chin up” can do. 

According to FadeAway World, after his time at UCLA, he went undrafted, playing a few games with the Portland Trail Blazers before playing with their G-League affiliate. That turned into an opportunity with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and now Brown has stolen the show once again. 

In the team’s most recent game against the Boston Celtics, Brown pulled off a 21-point, 23-rebound performance, landing the 21-year-old a four-year, $6.8 million deal with the OKC. Hands has also found success in the NBA after being drafted as the 56th pick in the 2019 draft to the Brooklyn Nets. While playing on their G-league he  played in 41 games, starting 19, and averaged 22.6 minutes per game. He was traded to the Pistons in 2020.

Brown’s success is living proof that the right attitude, even amid bleak circumstances, will get you far.
