It’s her first beauty brand partnership!
Comedian Quinta Brunson is now the face of Olay, People reports.
Brunson has already had a pretty successful year, launching ABC’s hit comedy “Abbott Elementary,” being named one of Time’s 100 most influential people, and making Emmy history with seven nominations for the show, three of which belong solely to her, the most nominations any Black woman has ever received in the comedy category.
Now Brunson has stepped into the beauty lane, landing her first beauty brand partnership as the new face of Olay. Brunson said the partnership was in perfect alignment, Olay being a mainstay in her house since she was a child. Brunson is featured in Olay’s new campaign highlighting the Retinol24 + Peptide collection which she applies at night.
“Olay is such an iconic and trusted brand, and I’m so happy to be partnering with them because of that trust that people have [in] their product. [It’s] something I really appreciate,” Brunson told reporters.
The new product line features a moisturizer, night eye cream, and night serum, all priced at less than $30. Brunson says she also uses the Vitamin C + Peptide 24 collection in the morning which she says is just easy. She credits the Olay products as helpful in boosting her skin confidence while working since she doesn’t like to wear a lot of makeup regularly.
“It’s important for me to feel actually more comfortable walking into my writers’ room, having a bare face. It’s funny because the [brand’s] tagline is ‘Face Anything,’ but I truly do feel like I’m able to do that with just this line of products as someone who doesn’t love to wear a ton of makeup,” said Brunson.
Brunson’s commitment to easy beauty for everyone extends to her work on screen too, choosing to highlight “real characters” like Janine Teagues who is played by Brunson, to show a woman who is comfortable in her own skin without a bunch of makeup or trendy beauty regiments.
“It’s TV – everyone wears makeup – but I was excited with Janine to show someone who is not that good at makeup. She doesn’t have to be that good at beauty yet and we can show a journey. We can show her find what her standard of beauty is. She already has a unique sense of style, and that’s something that people at first were really apprehended by, but then really charmed by, and I think that’s really sweet,” said Brunson.
Congratulations, Quinta on your latest venture!
