He’s earning straight A’s in the process!

This 12-year-old student athlete and entrepreneur is on the road to success between his Children’s book, running a business, and being a star-studded student athlete.

Our kidpreneurs make us so proud! There’s so many young kids who work hard to make their visions come true, and we aim to highlight as many as we can. We’ve learned about six kids from Washington D.C. who started a house-flipping business, 9-year-old Lily who’s the youngest entrepreneur to have her products on Walmart shelves, and even 10-year-old Laila who started her own lemonade business from the ground up. We can’t forget Mason Wright who started a hot dog cart, Mason’s Super Dogs, at only 9 years old. Before he knew it, his stand turned into a carry-out restaurant, making him the youngest restaurant owner in the state of Georgia at the age of 14.

Today, we’re sharing Demetrius Purvis II’s story, a 12-year-old with many talents who’s taking Henry County by storm. He’s an athlete, running and doing 200 push-ups a day to remain in shape for his favorite sport: football. The student is currently a star wide receiver and quarterback at Georgia Elite Sports Academy, which is no surprise considering he’s demonstrated these skills early on. Purvis II told 11Alive, “I got five touchdowns in a game when I was five years old.” Even his coach Eddie Grant is backing him, saying, “He’s a total player, a great teammate. He’s very focused, laser focused, very humble, but a student of the game. He wants to always be better.”

The young king is also business savvy, owning his own business, DTHEBEAST (DTB) Apparel, that specializes in clothes and air fresheners. He told the news channel, “People older than me have their own business, and I’m only 12 having my own business.” Now the young boy has a new book titled, All Through the Game, which was written to help children with motor and interpersonal skills and is to be read to the tune of “Wheels on the Bus.” The Children’s book is described as “a rhythmic adventure that will have readers moving and singing.” Becoming an author was a passion that he picked up during the pandemic; Purvis II’s mother, Calnetra, told 11Alive, “He actually started at age 9, two years ago. I would see him draw football men. He would draw helmets and the football itself.”

All Through The Game

The book is available at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Mascot Books. To keep up with Demetrius and his ventures, follow him on Instagram @officialdthebeast or his business pages @official_allthroughthegamebook and @officialdthebeastapparel.
