In a week filled with excitement for the talented Issa Rae, Wednesday brought a double dose of celebration as the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations were announced. Issa received not one but two nominations in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for her recent films, “American Fiction” and “Barbie.” The recognition marks a significant achievement for the multitalented actress, writer, and producer, showcasing her ability to excel across different cinematic projects.

This comedic series, exploring the trials and tribulations of a quirky black woman navigating through life, garnered widespread acclaim and marked the beginning of Rae’s ascent in the entertainment industry.
In 2016, Issa Rae made her television debut with HBO’s critically acclaimed series “Insecure,” where she not only starred but also served as the co-creator and executive producer.
