We’re going under the sea again!
Disney Junior has just unveiled the first glimpse of its latest animated series, ‘Ariel,’ a musical adventure tailored for preschoolers, Deadline reports. Drawing inspiration from the beloved “The Little Mermaid” and the live-action adaptation featuring Halle Bailey, this new series promises to captivate young hearts with its enchanting storyline and vibrant animation.
The Disney Junior series is set in the Caribbean underwater kingdom of Atlantica and follows a young Black Ariel. The mermaid is met by friends Sebastian and Flounder, featuring Mykal-Michelle Harris as young Ariel with Taye Diggs as King Triton and Amber Riley as Ursula.
The series is sure to inspire representation for the next generation and will introduce young fans to new characters, Ariel’s mer-friends, Lucia and Fernie. The series is set to air this summer and is executive-produced by Lynne Southerland (Mulan II, Happily Ever After).
