Myeisha Mizuno has just been named the showrunner for both the Steve Harvey-hosted daytime syndication and primetime “Celebrity Family Feud” on ABC. This achievement marks a significant milestone in television, making Mizuno the first Black woman to lead a network game show, as reported by Variety.

Before joining “Celebrity Family Feud,” Mizuno built a strong career producing unscripted content for networks such as MTV, NBC, BET, BBC, and others. She also worked on shows like “Judge Judy” and the revival of ABC’s “Supermarket Sweep.”

“I grew up watching game shows, everyone watched game shows,” Mizuno says. “They have traditionally been run by white males. So, to be the first Black woman to run a primetime network game show is huge. And not just any game show, but an iconic franchise at that! I’m very appreciative of it. I don’t know why it has taken such a long time, but I’m happy to know that it’s now a genre that has been cracked open for someone like me to be a part of it.”

The show returned on July 9 for its 10th anniversary and landmark 100th episode. This season, celebrities and their loved ones compete for charity, including Megan Thee Stallion, Anthony Anderson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Shaquille O’Neal, and Sherri Shepherd.
