They say it’s truly a blessing!
Twin sisters Doris Ward and Loris Pryor just celebrated their 100th birthday together on July 17th, WXYZ News 7 reports. Originally born in Illinois in 1924, the duo have a century’s worth of memories together, boasting nine children between them and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
“All I can say is that it’s a blessing to even be here at 100 years old,” said Ward.
To live this long, I never thought it would happen or not happen. I never thought about it,” added Pryor.
Their extended family and friends gathered to celebrate the centenarians, and the two enjoyed their birthday to the fullest. Reflecting on their lives, they said they just remember always being together, their fondest memories including days of dancing.
We were always together with everything. She ain’t go without me. I ain’t go without her. [We were] always together,” said Pryor.
“We did a lot of dancing,” recalled Ward.
To date, they still have that same closeness, often traveling to the casino for trips. The two enjoyed their day, saying the greatest gift is to still be alive to see their family, something they don’t take for granted.
“The good Lord blessed us to still see our family, and that was a blessing,” added Ward.
Life is very precious, or I wouldn’t be here. It’s just precious to live this long, explained Pryor.
Happy Birthday, ladies! Cheers to long life and love!
