12-year-old Knowa De Baraso, who goes by @KnowaWasTaken online, is making waves as a Democratic content creator and activist. His activism journey began in 2022 when a meeting with Stacey Abrams, then running for Georgia governor, ignited his passion for activism and social change. Recently, he went viral for a sharp exchange with Mike Lindell at the Democratic National Convention, a moment that even made it onto NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and earned him a spot on “The Breakfast Club.”
During his appearance on @rolandsmartin’s Unfiltered show at the DNC, De Baraso explained that his dedication to activism and media is driven by the importance of how young people engage with social issues. Being homeschooled allows him the time to focus on his commitment to helping the community.
Impressed by his enthusiasm and commitment, Martin offered De Baraso a show on the Black Star Network, to which he eagerly responded, “I would be honored, I would love that.” Since launching his daily show in 2018 and the Black Star Network in 2020, Martin has been dedicated to nurturing emerging voices and creating opportunities for the next generation. We’re looking forward to learning more details about De Baraso’s show coming soon on the Black Star Network.
