We remember Tito Jackson, a founding member of the legendary Jackson 5, who passed away at the age of 70, as confirmed by his family on Monday.
In a touching tribute on social media, his sons TJ, Taj, and Taryll shared, “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, is no longer with us… Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as “Coach Tito” or some know him as “Poppa T.” Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be “Tito Time” for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is “Love One Another.” We love you Pops.”
As the third of nine Jackson siblings, Tito played a pivotal role as the talented guitarist who helped define the sound of The Jackson 5, one of the most iconic and beloved family groups in music history. Alongside his brothers, Tito was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. His legacy extends beyond the group, as he also made his mark as a solo blues artist.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and all those who were touched by his music.♥️
