Oh, we cannot wait for this!
Simone Biles, the most decorated Olympic gymnast in U.S. history, now adds restaurateur to her portfolio. According to the Bleacher Report, Biles has teamed up with The Playmakers Group to open a new restaurant in her hometown airport in Houston, Texas.
Aptly named “Taste of Gold,” a nod to her seven gold Olympic medals, the restaurant is set to open inside the George Bush Intercontinental Airport next year. The Playmakers Group, a company known for operating airport restaurants in partnership with athletes, previously opened Dirk Nowitzki’s restaurant at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport in August 2023. Now, Biles is ready for her own launch.
“I am very excited to partner with The Playmakers Group and their dedicated team to help bring a new restaurant to my hometown airport. I am a foodie at heart, and our hope with Taste of Gold is to offer a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning, signature menu items with some of my favorite flavors sprinkled in for our guests,” said Biles.
The 11x Olympic medalist is currently on the 30-city Gold Over America tour in partnership with Athleta, celebrating elite-level gymnasts and inspiring the next generation of champions. The tour continues through November, and Biles’ restaurant, “Taste of Gold,” is set to open in the first quarter of 2025.
