Imagine a place where you can work, collaborate, and cop your favorite kicks.
Channing Beumer is making that dream a reality and leading the way into the future of retail by introducing Shop CNK, the first Black-woman owned and woman focused experiential retail concept in the United States. “CNK has become a beacon for women across all facets of the sneaker and streetwear industry,” Beumer, the founder of CNK, said in an announcement on Instagram. “This next venture for CNK and our expansion into retail will be unlike anything else in Dallas. Anything in the country, really.”
CNK, short for “Chicks ‘n Kicks,” is a blog turned media company that’s become a go-to place for sneakerheads around the world. CNK Daily provides a trusted voice for both consumers and brands, and also provides much needed representation for women in the streetwear industry.
Beumer, along with CNK co-founder Cassidy Edwards, is expanding CNK’s presence. They’re taking the sneaker game offline and into real-life by opening their flagship boutique, Shop CNK. The space is designed to bring everything they’ve built online together under one roof in Dallas, Texas: a sense of community, a space for conversation and collaboration, and of course, a place for people to purchase stylish kicks and other apparel.
There are only four woman-owned sneaker boutiques in the country, according to Blk Creatives, and none cater exclusively to the experience of the female consumer. Shop CNK seeks to change that.
“For us, experiences matter. Service matters. Equity matters. This is the future of retail: community driven, impactful, and making the customer’s experience a priority,” Beumer said in the announcement.
Beumer is currently fundraising to help secure investments for the brick and mortar buildout, with plans to open doors later in 2024.
