And it’s primarily plant-based!

A husband and wife duo are the owners of the first Black-owned food truck at Walt Disney World, Travel Noire reports.

Robyn and Zak Wallace are the owners of Local Green, a restaurant turned food truck that the couple opened in Atlanta in 2019. The two were inspired to start the business after experiencing personal familial losses that had them thinking twice about their own health.

“I lost my brother, and my wife lost her mother to cancer,” Zak told reporters.

The couple vowed to really transform the way they think about food and help others to do so as well. Local Green serves as a tribute to honor their loved ones, the husband and wife team serving food that is primarily plant-based.

“When you’re sick with illnesses such as cancer or high blood pressure, doctors will tell you not to eat fried foods, eat lean meat and vegetables, and no pork or beef. If you can’t eat this while you’re sick, these things shouldn’t be eaten if you’re feeling good,” explained Zak.

Recently, the two got an offer to bring their food truck eatery to Disney Springs. Eager to share their message about clean eating and their food, the Wallaces said yes, making history as the first Black-owned food truck at Walt Disney World.

“We wanted to bring something to our community without sacrificing the taste. We know our culture tends to like soul food, barbecue, fried food… but it’s affecting our health. Of the illnesses plaguing our community, the top three killers are hypertension, cancer, and diabetes,” said Zak.

The menu features a number of delicious eats named after various hip hop artists and tunes, a nod to Zak’s work as a songwriter. Patrons can purchase items like the Oh Boy Beyond Burger, the Bubba Sparxx Pulled BBQ sandwich and the Rappers Delight Salmon Philly.

Their mission is to provide even more joy to those who visit Disney. By giving people good clean eating that doesn’t skimp on deliciousness, they hope to inspire customers to inventory their own eating habits and promote a life of wellness.

“When eating here, we hope people realize that you can control your life by what you eat and removing the negative things. Put yourself first on your to-do list and think about the people most impacted by your daily dietary choices,” said Zak.
