Prince George’s County is celebrating its own culinary champion, Chef Tobias Dorzon!
Dorzon, a Riverdale native and the owner of Huncho House in Hyattsville, was recently named Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland – a first for the county, according to WUSA9. This prestigious recognition wasn’t the only honor bestowed upon Chef Dorzon. Prince George’s County Council members acknowledged his dedication to the community and his role in elevating the county’s dining scene. Dorzon was presented with a Proclamation Day in his honor, solidifying his status as a local culinary icon.
Dorzon’s journey to the top wasn’t your typical chef’s path. He transitioned from the world of professional football to the world of fine dining, a testament to his unwavering passion for food. His hard work and talent haven’t gone unnoticed. Dorzon has graced the screens of the Food Network and currently hosts “Time Out with Tobias” on ESPN and Hulu.
The celebration doesn’t stop here. Chef Dorzon isn’t one to rest on his laurels. With a mischievous glint in his eye, he hints at even bigger things to come on his Instagram, stating, “we did this out of an old five guys lol so just imagine what we about to do. @1123_thehunchoexperience next month ” This cryptic message has fans buzzing with anticipation for the grand opening of his second restaurant, 1123_thehunchoexperience.
