Penn State Assistant Coach Lynnzee Brown Makes History as First Woman Gymnast to Compete in Olympics for Haiti

Lynnzee Brown is an assistant coach for the Penn State women’s gymnastics team who just made history as the first woman gymnast to ever compete in the Olympics for Haiti, GoPSUSports reports. Brown showed up and out for Penn State and the nation of Haiti, competing on the world stage in the qualification round of the women’s artistic gymnastics competition at the Paris Olympics

Brown earned her highest all-around score in international competition, a 48.832 tally. She scored 13.566 on vault, 12.233 on floor, 11.533 on beam, and 11.500 on uneven bars. Not only was this a historic accomplishment, but it was Brown’s best-ever performance.

In her first year as a coach, Brown helped lead Penn State to a phenomenal 2024 season, the team advancing to the NCAA Regional Final. For her work, Brown and her coworkers were named the North East Region’s Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year. Now, she’s an Olympian, earning her home country of Haiti some much deserved recognition!
