Atlanta really is the new Hollywood! On Friday, Will Smith shared a video on his Instagram account that showed what happened when he and Martin Lawrence linked up with Wesley Snipes and Eddie Murphy. The icons were on Tyler Perry’s recently christened studio lot filming their respective sequels, Bad Boys 3 and Coming to America 2 (Snipes is starring in Coming to America 2).
In the video Will can be seen yelling for Eddie Murphy to come out of his trailer saying, “Eddie, come on out here!” After Eddie emerged from his trailer Will went on to say that he wanted to pay homage.
Smith posted the video to Instagram with the caption, “You can’t put Bad Boys 3 next to Coming to America 2 at Tyler Perry Studios and expect us to get ANY work done.”
After taking a few selfies it looked like the moment was coming to an end, then Tracy Morgan showed up! All on a movie lot owned by a Black man. We won’t ever get over how significant Tyler Perry’s studio is for Black people.
One of the sound stages on the 330 acre lot is dedicated to Will Smith. While we’re unsure if either of the productions is being filmed there, we know they’re surrounded by Black excellence at every corner.
Bad Boys 3 hits theaters early next year in January 2020. Coming to America 2 will close the year out releasing in December 2020.
