When she was five-years-old Blue Ivy said she had never seen a ceiling in her whole life, and she continues to prove it! The 8-year-old daughter of Jay-Z and Beyonce has added another credit to her growing resume, narrating the audiobook for Matthew Cherry’s, “Hair Love.”
The “Hair Love” book , which was illustrated by Vashti Harrison, was released in May 2019. It focuses on an African American father, Stephen, trying to style his daughter Zuri’s hair.
Cherry took to Twitter to share the news along with a nine second teaser featuring the young Carter’s adorable voice.

The first time we heard Blue’s vocals was in 2012 when she appeared at the end of Jay-Z’s song, “Glory,” which paid homage to Beyonce and Blue. Five years later, she was featured on her father’s “4:44” album and she hasn’t slowed down since. The budding mogul is also a writer, earning herself an NAACP Image Award, BET Her Award and a Soul Train Award for her contributions to Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girls,” song.
The “Hair Love” animated short film debuted in theaters in August 2019 playing right before “Angry Birds 2.” Earlier this year it took home the Oscar for best animated short film.
The audiobook is four minutes long and is available every where audiobooks are sold.
