Oscar-winning actresses Danielle Brooks, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Erika Alexander are among the select few invited to join the film academy.

“We are thrilled to welcome this year’s class of new members to the academy,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang. “These remarkably talented artists and professionals from around the world have made a significant impact on our filmmaking community.”

Brooks, Randolph, and Alexander, who each won Oscars this year for their roles in *The Color Purple*, *The Holdovers*, and *American Fiction*, respectively, will now have the opportunity to be part of the prestigious film academy.

Brooks expressed her excitement on social media, tweeting, “Okaaayyy, I’m not mad at a little announcement. Very glad to be joining @TheAcademy!”

This year, 487 artists, including actors, directors, costume designers, publicists, and executives, received invitations, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The new class includes 41% from underrepresented ethnic/racial communities and 44% women.

Love to see these women getting their flowers!
