She’s back at it again!
Issa Rae landed an multi -figure film and TV deal with WarnerMedia, Shadow and Act reports.
The company announced a new five-year overall deal with the Insecure creator, expanding their relationship with Rae after her initial first-look HBO deal which she inked back in 2016. The deal is exclusive to WarnerMedia and includes all television and film platforms under their umbrella including HBO, HBO Max, Warner Bros.Television, Warner Bros. Pictures Group, New Line and HBO Max. All projects will be developed under Rae’s HOORAE media company.
Currently, HBO and HBO Max has multiple projects in development with HOORAE including Insecure, A Black Lady Sketch Show, The Vanishing Half, Nice White Parents, the Seen and Heard documentary series, the Rap Sh*t comedy and a scripted series with Mark Phillips.
Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer for HBO and HBO Max, spoke about the new expanded deal, saying, “We have been in business with Issa for more than eight years, and we couldn’t be prouder of our collaboration. Insecure was a breakthrough series for HBO, and there is much more on the horizon. This new deal is an opportunity to leverage the strength of WarnerMedia to provide a multitude of platforms for Issa’s formidable talents as a producer and storyteller.”
