A legendary finish to a legendary career!
After over 50 years, nine gold albums, and cementing his legacy as an R&B legend, lead singer of Maze, Frankie Beverly, has announced his retirement and a farewell tour, the “I Wanna Thank You Farewell Tour.”
“I want to share with my lifelong fans and associates that I’ll be going out on the road one last time, then retire.” Frankie Beverly said in a statement to Billboard. “It’s been a great ride through the decades. Let the music of my legacy continue.”
The band Maze will continue to make music as “Maze Honoring Frankie Beverly” with Tony Lindsay taking over the role of lead vocalist.
Maze featuring Frankie Beverly gave us over half a century years of amazing music, including crooning love songs like “Can’t Get Over You” and “Joy and Pain,” and the cookout staple, “Before I Let Go.”
The tour kicks off in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on March 22 and wraps up at Kia Forum in Los Angeles on May 12. Once the tour ends, Beverly will travel to Philadelphia for a street renaming ceremony in the city where he and the Maze band — originally called Raw Soul — began in 1970.
Pre-sales for Frankie Beverly and Maze’s “I Wanna Thank You Farewell Tour” began Feb. 15. Get your tickets here.
