We were all screaming, just like Meg!
Megan Thee Stallion just headlined at Coachella’s first weekend, and the Hot Girl Coach did not disappoint! Her set was both energetic and a ball of fun, the Houston native surprising festival-goers with special guest performances from rising star Victoria Monét and veteran R&B songstress Ciara. But the special guest performances kicked off during Megan’s “Plan B” performance when none other than hip hop pioneer Queen Latifah walked out, Variety reports.
Latifah performed a remixed version of “Plan B” before heading into the first verse of her hit 1993 song “U.N.I.T.Y.,” as fans and Meg screamed in adoration. The moment was a shining example of Black Girl Magic and an extension of Megan’s commitment to bridging the gap between women in hip-hop. Fans were thrilled, and Latifah brought presence and power as she gave her stamp of approval to the Houston Hottie.
While Meg’s set ended abruptly due to a technical issue, she left nothing on the table during the 50-minute set. Fans can catch her again for Coachella’s second weekend next Sunday as we patiently await another iconic moment on stage for hip hop.
