This is so necessary!
Luxury men’s grooming brand Bevel, is offering free mental health resources to the Black community, Essence reports.
Bevel, a popular beauty brand specializing in grooming tools, hair and skin products for Black men, is now doing their part to aid in resources that can support the community. The company has partnered with Headspace, an app providing guided meditations, to offer free 30 day complimentary passes for users.
In addition to the guided meditations, those who sign up will also have access to premium package programs which include toolkits that help with focus, anxiety and stress relief. With the coronavirus pandemic and the current uprising mental health services for the Black community are in high demand. The free 30-day membership will grant men and women free access to vital resources that they may not otherwise be able to afford.
Tia Cummings, Walker & Company’s Vice President, spoke about the new initiative, saying, “We recognize that during these turbulent times, Black women and men are under an enormous amount of stress due to COVID-19 and the decades-long fight against systemic racism, police brutality, and inequality. And we know that Black women and men don’t always take the time to focus on their own mental health. That’s why we’re providing free, 30-day memberships to Headspace Plus; so our community can more easily access helpful tools and tips for managing stress and anxiety in a healthy way.”
The company also took to social media to announce the initiative, saying, “There is much work left to do. As we continue to stand side-by-side with our brothers and sisters in the fight against systemic racism and injustices toward Black people across America, taking care of ourselves mentally is more important than ever before. Now and always, Bevel stays committed to the mental wellness of our community.”
