Michael B. Jordan’s hit Netflix series, Raising Dion, has officially been renewed for Season 2, Deadline reports.
The first season of the superhero series launched fall 2019 and found success among viewers. The story follows single mom Nicole Reese (Alisha Wainwright) as she struggles to raise her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young), after the death of her husband Mark (Michael B. Jordan). If that wasn’t complicated enough, Nicole soon discovers that 8-year-old Dion has superpowers.
Raising Dion was named one of Netflix’s 10 most popular series of 2019. It was also the #1 most popular kids and family series on the streaming site in 2019. Michael B. Jordan is returning as executive producer for the second season alongside Charles D. King’s MACRO.
In honor of the season 2 renewal, the twitter account for Raising Dion posted a video of a painting by Senegalese artist Boubou depicting Wainwright and Young. Check out the video below.

No word yet on when Season 2 of Raising Dion will air but production is set to begin this year! Let’s get excited!
