It’s the collab we didn’t know we needed!
Comedian and Abbott Elementary creator Quinta Brunson linked up with the cast of Sesame Street, and we want more! Brunson joined Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby for a special lesson on kindness. The cast even adopted Abbott’s specific mockumentary style for the episode, and Brunson appeared in a classroom as a beloved teacher, just as she does on her own show.
“Good morning, Ms. Brunson!,” the cast yells.
“So today, we’re going to learn about kindness. What are some things we can do to be kind to one another?,” asks Brunson.
When Cookie Monster raises his hand, he offers a unique take on the question.
“It’s kind to clean up like me clean up these crayons,” he says before attempting to eat them all.
Brunson swiftly steps in and stops him from eating the crayons, pointing out that it’s not nice to eat everything, especially everyone’s crayons.
The episode showcases Brunson’s unique style of comedy and paired with the beloved kid classic, it’s a hit. Sesame Street is known for incorporating public figures into their episodes and addressing timely issues within society. Showcasing the comedian is just an extension of that tried and true mission that has kept viewers tuned in for the last five decades.
Brunson recently announced the newest season of Abbott Elementary, set to premiere this February. The show continues to shatter records and win awards, and Brunson has catapulted herself into a household name. It’s a long way from her short video days, but it’s still the quintessential Brunson we know and love, and we’re here for it.
Season 3 of Abbott Elementary premieres February 7th on ABC and Hulu.
