He’ll be performing in key battleground states!
Stevie Wonder announced a 10-city U.S. tour just before the presidential election, according to NBC News reports. The tour, “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart,” will begin this October, with the iconic musician calling for “joy over anger, kindness over recrimination, peace over war.” Wonder also promises to set aside a select number of complimentary tickets “as a special thank you… to those in our communities who are already working tirelessly to fix our nation’s broken heart.”
The announcement follows Wonder’s appearance at the Democratic National Convention last month. There, Wonder reminded attendees of his lifetime commitment to unifying us through music and gave a heartwarming speech about the power of action.
“I know the importance of action. Now is the moment to understand where we are and what it will take to win: win the broken hearts, win the disenchanted, win the angry spirits – now is the time. This is the moment to remember when you tell your children where you were and what you did… We must choose courage over complacency. It is time to get up…and go vote!,” Wonder said.
The tour will kick off on October 8th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with stops in Baltimore, Greensboro, and Minneapolis before ending on October 30th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tickets are on sale now.
