She’s hopping into the restaurant business!
Tabitha Brown is set to open a new vegan restaurant in California, Essence reports. This has been a remarkable year for the vegan influencer. From her partnership with “The Calm App” to her new seasoning with McCormick and her debut book hitting the New York Times bestseller’s list, it’s safe to say that Brown’s blessings keep falling in her lap. The actress is now becoming a restaurateur, opening her first vegan restaurant in California.
“Kale My Name” is a popular Chicago vegan eatery that Brown became familiar with while filming for Season 4 of Lena Waithe’s The Chi. Now, she has teamed up with the owner, Nemanja Nekac Golubović, to expand the restaurant. Brown serves as co-owner of a new California location they’re looking to bring to Encino.
Brown took to social media to share the good news with her followers, writing, “I’m opening my first vegan restaurant! Family, it’s officially happening! I’m opening my very first restaurant. I’m so thankful and grateful to bring @kalemyname to Los Angeles as a Co-owner. Y’all, it’s about to be Very Good!”
When she visited the Chicago eatery prior, Brown had shared a video of brunch, featuring delicious options like bagels and lox, using jackfruit, pancakes and “sausage,” and “chicken” and waffles, using cauliflower. Brown and her guests couldn’t get enough of the food.
Not only is she hoping to bring that same experience to the west coast, but she’s also hoping that she’s motivating others along the way and encouraging them to keep going after their dreams, no matter how big they are.
“If you have an idea or a dream, a thought, honey, do something with it. This is about to be my first restaurant experience, something I never even thought I could do, but here we are—a great partner, a restaurant that I love and believe in, here in California. And I ain’t gon’ stop here. That’s what my spirit’s saying: ‘Tab this is the first but not the last,'” Brown said.
Congratulations, Tab! We can’t wait to visit!
