Earlier this year, Usher shut down Super Bowl LVIII with his highly anticipated halftime show. Fresh off of his successful multi-year Las Vegas residency, Usher showed up to the Allegiant Stadium with ATL in tow to give us an unforgettable performance featuring Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Lil Jon, H.E.R., and SoSoDef super producer Jermaine Dupri.
Receiving rave reviews from fans, Usher took viewers on a journey throughout his illustrious career, giving us hit after hit. Now the R&B legend has earned three Emmy nominations for the Apple Music Super Bowl show, his first ever Emmy noms, one for every decade of his remarkable career.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Usher, an eight time Grammy award winning artist, received his first three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special, Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Variety Special, and Outstanding Variety Special (Live). The latter nomination is one Usher shares alongside past winners and Super Bowl halftime show executive producers Jay-Z and Jesse Collins.
Other 2024 Emmy music nominees include Lionel Richie, The Weeknd, and two-time Emmy winner, producer Rickey Minor. The 76th Emmy Awards are set to broadcast live from Los Angeles on September 15th at 8pm ET on ABC.
