Oh happy day!🙌🏾
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit,” Whoopi Goldberg hosted a heartfelt reunion on “The View” with the movie’s cast.
Joined by beloved co-stars like Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and many of the original young choir members, Whoopi led a nostalgic recreation of “Oh Happy Day” and “Joyful, Joyful.” Ryan Toby reprised his role as Ahmal, singing alongside Goldberg’s Sister Mary Clarence.
The emotional moment brought Goldberg to tears after the “Joyful, Joyful” performance. Reflecting on the movie’s enduring impact, Goldberg said, “Worldwide, it doesn’t matter how old you are, you are the age of those kids when you see the movie… You’re the age of them, and you remember your time, and you remember how happy you were that you didn’t have to go to Catholic school. But then you remember how sorry you are that you didn’t get to go to Catholic school, and you missed out on teachers like this. So I think people just feel themselves here.”
This heartwarming reunion captures the essence of Sister Act’s enduring legacy. Share your favorite Sister Act memories in the comments below! 🎶
