She’s paying it forward!

LSU Tigers star Angel Reese is making sure she gives back to her neighborhood, recently donating $12,000 to her old high school, Black Enterprise reports. Reese graduated from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore as one of the top-five recruits in the class of 2020. She rose to prominence after LSU’s national championship win over the University of Iowa, Reese sparking controversy as she battled another 2020 top-five recruit, Caitlin Clark.

Nicknamed the “Bayou Barbie,” Reese subsequently launched the Angel C. Reese Foundation to empower other young girls in sports through education, financial literacy, basketball camps, scholarships, and other resources. Now she’s giving back in a major way, donating the $12,000 to support the girls’ basketball team tuition fund at St. Frances, something Reese also benefited from as a student.

“This is the same fund that covered Angel’s tuition all 4 years as a student at SFA,” Reese’s mother captioned photos of her daughter with the donation check.

After being named Most Outstanding Player in the Women’s Final Four, Reese continues to use her platform for good, inking million dollar brand deals while ensuring she gives back to the community that shaped her. In addition to her most recent philanthropic effort, Reese was also honored by Baltimore County this summer with a basketball court renaming in her honor. The ceremony for the new Angel Reese Court took place at the Scotts Branch Recreation Activity Center, the same court that she played on while growing up.

Keep leading by example Angel!
