He’s got jokes!

Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key made a name for themselves with their hit comedy series Key & Peele. Running for five seasons on Comedy Central, the show featured hilarious sketch comedy moments, the most memorable of these being a recreation of President Barack Obama’s Team USA meet-up while in office, Complex reports. In the sketch, Peele & Key can be seen employing exaggerated and elated daps to the Black guests and formal handshakes to those of other ethnicities. The bit went viral and is a highlight of the sketch comedy series.

Recently, Barack Obama had a full-circle moment, recreating the hilarious skit while meeting again with Team USA just ahead of their Paris Olympics debut. As Obama circles the room to greet LeBron James and other Team USA basketball members, the 44th president is seen following the same dap-handshake cadence, a hilarious moment for Key & Peele fans who immediately noticed that the former POTUS had jokes.

Peele previously expressed his disbelief and elation at the fact that Obama was not only aware of the skit but also a fan of their work on the show. Knowing that the leader of the free world was an avid fan of his work was a moment of sheer surprise and joy for Peele.

“I couldn’t even believe that he saw our show… He wanted to meet us, very specifically. It was crazy. We got to meet him,” said Peele, his admiration and respect for Obama evident in his words.
