Most Incredible Studio is a trailblazer in commemorating cultural moments through LEGO®-based art. The first Black-owned creative studio for LEGO art, the company offers bespoke creative experiences focusing on storytelling, craftsmanship, and cultural representation. Their work spans custom kits, minifigs, and sculptures celebrating significant cultural events, figures, and beyond. By collaborating with Because of Them We Can, they have helped transform the power of history into an interactive experience, allowing families to build, reflect, and honor legacies together.
Bringing “Because Of You: Legacy In Focus” to life was more than just designing a LEGO® set—it was about capturing the essence of legacy in a way that felt both personal and powerful.
“This collaboration is about more than just building with LEGO® bricks – it’s about building connections to our history, our culture, and the stories that define us,” said Eunique Jones Gibson, founder of Because Of Them We Can. “With every piece placed, we hope to remind people of the power of storytelling and the importance of capturing moments that inspire future generations.”
For Syreeta Gates, founder of Most Incredible Studio, this collaboration is deeply personal. “In many ways, my existence is a testament to the power of photography—without the camera, my parents’ paths may never have crossed. Their lives at the time converged in a space built to capture moments. To now create something that honors the legacy of Black photography, in partnership with Because of Them We Can, which is equally committed to our history, feels like a full-circle moment,” Gates expressed.
The most exciting part of this collaboration, Gates shares, is seeing two value-aligned companies highlight Black genius and celebrate Black culture in an intentional way. As an archivist, Gates understands the importance of preserving culture and having tangible representations of history.
“So much of our work exists as ephemera—fleeting moments captured in time. This campaign ensures that Black legacy, seen through the lens of the camera, will endure physically and permanently through this LEGO® set. It transforms the act of storytelling into something people can literally build, hold, and pass down, reinforcing the importance of Black narratives for generations to come,” she added.
Both teams were dedicated to making sure the collaboration was handled with care and loads of intention. The goal is that when people see or build this LEGO® set, they see themselves, their communities, and their place in a powerful legacy.
“I hope they recognize that they are part of a powerful legacy that has been documented through the camera by some of our greatest visual storytellers—Gordon Parks, Jamel Shabazz, Lorna Simpson, Laylah Amatullah Barrayn, Joshua Kissi, Chi Modu (RIP), Dana Scruggs, and so many others who have used photography in service of our culture. This “Because Of You: Legacy In Focus” LEGO® set is a reminder that our stories matter and that we have always been the architects of our own narratives,” explained Gates.
