Teen Instagram star “That Girl Lay Lay” just signed a deal with Nickelodeon, Deadline reports.
Alaya “That Girl Lay Lay” High announced a deal with the network that includes developing original multiplatform programming, music initiatives, and an exclusive line of cross-consumer products.
The thirteen year old rose to social media fame after her rap videos went viral. Garnering millions of views, the Houston native has been rapping, writing, producing and singing since she was 5 years old. By the time she was 11, she became the youngest female rapper to sign a recording deal under her own record label, Fresh Rebel Muzik. She has released several projects in the last couple of years, made several TV appearances, including a performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and has participated in national campaigns and released several books.
This is a win for all teen content creators, looking to make their big break, hardwork and the right team definitely pays off. “I’m so excited to be joining the Nickelodeon family! I grew up watching Nick and this opportunity is seriously a dream come true. I have the best fans in the world, and I can’t wait to take them on this journey with me,” said High.
