She’s back where it all began!
Earlier this month, Columbia High School’s MLK Club in Maplewood, New Jersey, hosted a reunion weekend for alumni from the classes of ’85-’95, according to the high school’s club Instagram page. Among the attendees was R&B icon Lauryn Hill, who graduated in 1993. To the delight of her former classmates, Hill made a surprise appearance and treated everyone to an impromptu performance of some of her classics.
It was during her high school years that @mslaurynhill’s music career took off. She met Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean, forming the group that would later become the Fugees. Around the same time, Hill also landed roles in “As the World Turns” and “Sister Act II: Back in the Habit,” starring alongside Whoopi Goldberg.

Videos from the reunion quickly circulated on social media, capturing Hill performing her classic hit ‘Ex-Factor’ from The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and the Fugees’ ‘Ready or Not,’ among a few others.
