Mary J. Blige is partnering with PepsiCo. Inc. for her new Strength of a Woman scholarship.
The scholarship will award $30,000 to a woman student at Hampton University.
The scholarship recipient can renew the award for up to one year — or until they have earned their bachelor’s degree.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, the student must self-identify as a female, be a current sophomore, and plan to enroll full-time for the 2024-25 academic year.
When it comes to academic requirements for eligibility, the student must have a minimum 2.5 grade-point average and be pursuing a degree in marketing, arts, business administration, finance, or creative design.
According to the scholarship application page, applicants will be selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need will also be considered.
The application deadline is Oct. 16.
