Michael B. Jordan has announced plans to executive produce the first authorized scripted series, “The Greatest: A Story About Muhammad Ali,” which will explore the legendary boxer and activist’s life both in and out of the ring.
Jordan, known for his work on the Creed franchise, will collaborate with executive producer and showrunner Ben Watkins and Ali’s estate. According to Deadline, the series will star Jaalen Best from “All American: Homecoming” as Muhammad Ali.
Jordan recently took to Instagram to share his feelings about working with the Ali Estate on this groundbreaking series.
“A lot of us know about the victories and defeats that made Ali a legend, but this show’s heartbeat is all about the moments out of the spotlight. When the world thinks about Ali they think GOAT, but The Greatest is about a man, a husband, a father, a brother, and a son. Can’t wait for y’all to see what we and our incredible production partners got cookin’,” he wrote.
No word yet on when “The Greatest” will air but it is set to stream on Prime Video.
