The “Nailed It!” spin-off, “The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge,” features a familiar face for New Orleans residents.
Renowned baker Travis Smith appears on the streaming service’s reality competition show. The series follows ten terrible bakers who pick up tips from professional coaches while competing for a cash prize.
Smith is a fixture in the New Orleans culinary scene, primarily due to his premium pastries that he bakes out of Flava King Nola.
However, despite him being a local name, he hasn’t set to take his presence to the national level — until now. His role in the Netflix series gives him a much larger platform to share his story and connect with audiences all over the world.
The “Nailed It!” spin-off features host Nicole Byer and a lineup of popular judges and celebrity guests. The humor comes from the amateur bakers who are tasked with taking on baking challenges that are better suited for pros.
Fans of Smith know that his journey has been full of ups and downs. He faced the challenge of losing his home in Hurricane Ida and also experienced the trauma of losing his father. However, you can tell just by looking at his Instagram, that he’s remained humble as he continues to follow his dream of being a baker.
You can stream “The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge” now on Netflix.
