Fighting stigma through conversation!
Actress Taraji P. Henson is set to launch a new talk show on Facebook Watch focused on mental wellness, The Grio reports.
In 2018, Henson founded the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation in honor of her late father, who struggled with mental health issues due to his time serving in the Vietnam War. Since then, the foundation has focused on offering mental health services to youth in underserved communities, providing scholarships for Black students interested in pursuing an education in mental health, and lowering recidivism rates of formerly incarcerated Black people.

Now, Henson is launching a new show on Facebook Watch dedicated to elevating the conversation around mental wellness, entitled Peace of Mind with Taraji, co-hosted by her best friend and executive director of the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, Tracie Jade Jenkins.
The show will focus on shining a spotlight on mental health’s everyday challenges, particularly for those in the Black community. Celebrity interviews, expert analysis, and first-hand narratives will frame the show, helping to “provide support, bring awareness, and help eliminate the stigmas of mental health issues.”
“The work Taraji has done in the mental health space is inspiring, and we’re thrilled to have her come to our platform to educate and entertain around this incredibly important topic,” Mina Lefevre, Head of Development & Programming for Facebook Watch said. “One of our strengths at Facebook Watch is building community and conversation around topics people care about, and we’re looking forward to taking this journey together.”
Henson issued a statement, sharing her excitement about her new endeavor.
“I’ve long been a mental health advocate for the Black community and created the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation in 2018 that has provided resources to thousands of people who are struggling,” Henson said. “I’m looking forward to bringing this new talk series to Facebook Watch, where I can continue to create conversation around an issue that is near and dear to my heart.”
Right now, this is wanted and need! Congratulations, Taraji!
