The November Democratic presidential debate has announced its location — the new Tyler Perry Studios in Georgia!
The announcement came from Stacy Abrams, Georgia’s former candidate for governor. Abrams tweeted last Friday saying, “Democratic Debate site is set: @TPStudios is a model for Georgia’s vibrant film industry, an engaged corporate citizen and an exceptional location for our #DemDebate. Looking forward to welcoming the candidates to Georgia on November 20. #gapol.”
The fifth Democratic presidential debate will mark just the second time a major television network has aired a political debate featuring all women panel, Huffpost reports. The debates will be moderated by NBC News White House correspondent Kristen Welker along with Rachel Maddow, Andrea Mitchell and Ashley Parker, MSNBC reports. Democratic candidates Amy Klobuchar, Andrew Yang, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Tom Steyer are the first to qualify for the November debates.
Tyler Perry recently opened the massive 330 acre studio in October. The complex sits on a former decommissioned Confederate army base but now serves as a beacon for Black excellence. TP Studios features numerous homes, a White House replica, and 12 sound stages spanning 20 – 40,000 square feet in size. It is an ideal location for any major event.
The debates are scheduled to air live on MSNBC, November 20th from 9-11pm EST.
