Donnie Simpson, a popular radio host in the Detroit and Washington, D.C. areas, has announced his departure after five decades in radio.
In addition to his work on air, Simpson also served as host of the popular Video Soul show, becoming a mainstay in households via his work. His charisma and work on the nationally syndicated Donnie Simpson Show for more than three decades has captivated generations of listeners.
The first non-musician to be inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2015, he was also inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
Simpson announced this week that his last day on air would be January 12th but says he has plans to return on another platform.
