The 44th U.S. President Barack Obama announced this morning that the Obama Foundation will welcome civic leaders from all around the world to his hometown of Chicago for its first leadership summit. In the announcement video, Obama explained:
“This leadership summit will be a place to gather and learn from one another, and then go back to your communities to lead others in hard work and change.”
While the Obama Foundation is inviting people from around the world to attend, it has reserved a “handful of spots” for those who apply through Obama.org. As a strong advocate of youth civic engagement, the foundation is encouraging “young leaders who are passionate about social change and civic engagement to apply to attend.”
