The spirit of traditional youth choirs is alive and well!
In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the youth choir at United Christian Faith Ministries is bringing a fresh energy to gospel music. Known as Ablaze, this group of teens and young adults performs every fourth Sunday, but what sets them apart—and makes them go viral—is their electrifying stage presence, Gen-Z spin, and passion for worship. Their performances, often shared on TikTok, have captivated audiences, showing that the joy of gospel is alive and well in the next generation.
Over the past year, @ablazeyouthchoir has released several songs, but their latest track, I Got It, comes with a special touch. Their newly released music video is a tribute to the gospel groups of the ‘90s and early 2000s, recreating iconic moments from artists like Tye Tribbett & G.A., Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, and Hezekiah Walker. From the outfits to the energy, they’ve perfectly captured the essence of these gospel legends while adding their own modern twist.
