They turned her wheelchair into a throne!

Autumn Foster is a teen model with spina bifida who often advocates for differently abled youth. Her mom shares Autumn’s story of being paralyzed from the waist down and her love for adaptive sports, including cheer, dance, rock climbing, and horse riding. An accomplished model, she has limited language but takes exceptional direction, having already built up an impressive resume modeling for major brands like Kohl’s and rolling the runway at the 2022 LA Runway of Dreams for Zappos Adaptive. Recently, Autumn’s mom reached out to Black-owned photog company Creative Soul Photo, asking for a customized photoshoot for the budding model with a special request – including her wheelchair.

“I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to be able to incorporate her wheelchair into at least some of the pics. As a disabled model, she loves representing the disabled community,” Foster’s mom told Creative Soul.

The result was a beautiful photo shoot fit for a queen, Creative Soul outfitting a thrifted wheelchair like a throne. The team was able to make Autumn’s gown adaptive, and she really shined bright.

“Someone once asked why we don’t photograph more celebrity kids, and my response is that it’s so much more fun taking regular, everyday kids and making them feel like celebrities. Celebrating the beauty and spirit of our children in their everyday moments is a powerful reminder of their endless potential,” explained Creative Soul Photo.

Autumn and Mom loved the shoot and were ecstatic with the outcome. Foster’s mom shared the photos on social media and said they hope the images can inspire other children with disabilities.

“When you’re disabled AND a Queen. I couldn’t love these images more!! The vision and artistry…from makeup to hair to wardrobe to photography…the whole experience was incredible. The dress designer knew Autumn used a wheelchair so she made her dress accessible with a zipper all the way down the back. We asked to include her wheelchair in the shoot to show other children that disabilities are beautiful, too, and the team transformed a wheelchair off eBay into a throne,” wrote Foster.
