Dearest readers…this is sure to make your day!
Emmy award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, a name that needs no introduction, recently graced the set of Good Morning America (GMA). She shared insights about her work on Quinta Brunson’s hit show Abbott Elementary and her highly anticipated feature film, “The Fabulous Four.” This star-studded film, featuring Ralph alongside Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, and Megan Mulally, promises to be a cinematic delight.
It turns out Ralph’s appearance coincided with another GMA visit from the cast of Bridgerton ahead of their Season 3 premiere. The Regency-era romance drama from executive producer Shonda Rhimes has captivated viewers since its first airing. Season 3 is now shattering previous records, racking up 3.6 million viewers within its first week, Deadline reports.
As Ralph walked out onto the stage, she was absolutely delighted to see British actress Adjoa Andoh, who plays the fierce and loyal Lady Danbury on Bridgerton. It was the two’s first time meeting, and Ralph rushed to greet Andoh in a moment that was both heartwarming and pure Black Girl Magic.
“GIRL!,” Ralph exclaimed with arms raised as she spotted Andoh across the room.
“Come on!,” Andoh replied while also enthused at the rare moment.
The two embraced in a hug before sharing pleasantries and letting each other know how amazing it was to be seen by one another. Andoh let out a low scream as Ralph squeezed on her, the two locking eyes to acknowledge a brief but deep knowing of the significance of their work.
“Blessings. How lovely to meet you,” Andoh told Ralph.
“Wonderful to meet you!,” Ralph replied.
No stranger to trailblazing herself, Ralph went on to praise Andoh for her onscreen representation and share how much it has resonated with her personally.
“Everything you represent. It’s wonderful to see that whole imagery on TV. I love it,” said Ralph.
She went on to greet actress Claudia Jessie, who plays Eloise Bridgerton on the hit show. Jessie was standing by watching the sweet moment between the two before Ralph also congratulated her on a job well done before turning her attention back to Andoh.
Deeply moved, Andoh continued to embrace Ralph, holding her hand while telling her, “Thank you, sister.”
