ABC’s “Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday- which couldn’t have been any more perfect as her mother, Diana Ross, was this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
During the show, Ross wore several stunning outfits, one in which paid tribute to one of her mother’s most iconic looks: a white suit, a white bow tie, and a sparkling black button-up shirt. Tracee nailed it right down to the black heels and the sparkling black socks.

As a matter of fact, Tracee re-wore the exact blouse that her mother wore during a performance with the late great Michael Jackson in 1981.
“TWINNING – my mama Diana Ross and Michael Jackson in 1981,” Tracee wrote on Instagram. “This is mom’s actual shirt I just wore at the AMAs! I found it in her garage.”

The mother-daughter duo also made history as the first mother- daughter to host the American Music Awards. Diana hosted the show in 1986 and 1987.
Congratulations to the legendary Diana Ross on receiving the American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement!
