We love this!
Tyler Perry announced last Thursday that he planned on doing a Thanksgiving food giveaway this past Sunday to the first 5,000 people who showed up at Tyler Perry Studios. The event entitled #TPSGiving was scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon, the flyer posted on social media stated that it would be a drive-up event distributing non-perishable food items and gift cards to those who showed up.
We are excited to announce the #TPSGiving Food Giveaway event on Sunday, November 22nd from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
During this drive-up event we will be distributing non-perishable food items and gift cards to people who are in need during this holiday season. See you there! pic.twitter.com/kQH2DvwNYp

“Although we wish that we could feed everyone in need, we will close the line at the 5,000th family,” the announcement Twitter stated.
According to local media reports, cars were lined up for five miles south of downtown Atlanta, and the food was gone within two hours.
Perry, who recently was named one of Hollywood’s newest billionaires, is no stranger to humanitarian efforts. This past April, he surprised seniors in Georgia by paying for their groceries. After Hurricane Dorian, he used his plane to send aid to those on the island, and two years ago, he paid off Walmart shoppers layaway bills a few weeks before Christmas.
During such a chaotic year of job loss in our communities, this demonstration of generosity is needed; Thank you Mr. Perry! We hope to see more people paying it forward.
