What a full-circle moment!
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Bronx native and media maven Scottie Beam shared how she always dreamed of having her own billboard—and that dream has finally come true. Best known for her work as a former producer for Hot 97 and co-host of REVOLT’s State of the Culture, @scottiebeam posted a note from October last year, where she wrote down her desire to one day see herself on her own billboard. Fast forward to last month, and her dream became a reality.
The video shows her walking through New York before revealing a massive billboard of herself for the NFL x New Era ‘Forever New York’ campaign, featuring looks curated by BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester. With a beaming smile, Scottie proudly points up at the screen, standing in front of it. This is her second solo billboard this year.
“For a few years before this one… I kinda felt like God forgot about me. I was running on the hamster wheel, feeling like an idiot for not seeing results. Little did I know, I was focused on the wheel, not on the choice to get off and navigate life with a new perspective. Defining myself outside of work, outside of my career,” she shared in her post. “So I’m happy about this—not because I needed it—but because I didn’t, and yet, it’s still something I can add to my already beautiful life.”
