Proof that music transcends generation!
Students at The Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia recently got a special surprise. While practicing for a special mock performance of Keyshia Cole’s “Love,” the students were surprised by the R&B songstress herself. Led by a charismatic lead singer, founder Ron Clark interrupted the performance to ask the young crooner to give “more depth, more heart, more soul, more Keyshia Cole.” At that very moment, Cole walked in singing the song as the kids burst into cheers, screams and shock, before joining in for the hit chorus.
The moment was caught on camera and has begun to go viral as fans and educators alike reflect on the power of music. Known for its academic excellence and 21st century teaching methods, the Academy took to social media to share the heartwarming moment, saying the kids were “SHOOK.” Cole also reflected on the pop-up, congratulating the kids and the academy for its continuous work to build inspiring young leaders.
“I wanted to rest when I got to Atlanta but I became so restless…What a moment. So happy [management] was able to bring this idea to life. Goooo [Ron Clark Academy], these young leaders inspired me so much! Keep going! You all have what it takes to make it to greatness!,” Cole wrote.
